Send and cancel an alert
How to send an alert from your bracelet, what your contacts receive, and how to cancel.
Before you start
Test your bracelet once with your contacts, so you both know what an alert looks like before you need one. Tell them a test is coming.
Send an alert
Press the centre of your bracelet twice.
You do not need to unlock your phone, open the app, or say anything. The bracelet sends the alert through your phone.
Your bracelet must be connected to your phone, and your phone needs a signal, for the alert to be sent.
What your contacts receive
Every contact in My Circle receives two things at once:
- A text message reading "[Your name], I am in danger, here is my location", with a link
- A phone call from +1 (651) 564-9303
When they open the link, they see your location on a map. It stays live for 48 hours, so they can follow you if you are moving.
Ask your contacts to save +1 (651) 564-9303 as CERRET. If the number is not saved, their phone may treat the call as spam.
Your recording
Every alert saves a 30-second audio recording to your phone. It is stored in the app under Recordings, and it is not sent to your contacts.
Cancel an alert
If you are safe, or you sent the alert by accident:
- Open the CERRET app.
Press Cancel the Alert at the top of the screen. - Your contacts receive a message reading "[Your name], I have cancelled the alert. Thank you."
You have 15 minutes to cancel. Cancel even if only a few seconds have passed, because your contacts have already been called.
If you sent an alert by accident
Cancel it; it will tell your contacts directly.
