Pair your CERRET bracelet

Connect your bracelet to the CERRET app. It takes about two minutes.

Before you start
Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and keep your bracelet close to it. Each CERRET account is linked to one bracelet, and each bracelet to one account.

Install the app

Download CERRET from the App Store or Google Play, then open it.

Create your account

Enter your name, mobile number, and email address, then follow the prompts to verify.

Use the mobile number you actually carry. Your safety contacts will see your name on every alert you send.

Allow the permissions

The app asks for several permissions. Each one is needed for an alert to reach your contacts:

Bluetooth: connects the app to your bracelet
Location: set to Always: so your contacts receive your position when you send an alert, including when your phone is locked
Notifications: so you see alert confirmations and battery warnings
Microphone: for the 30-second recording 

Location must be set to "Always," not "While Using the App."
If it is set to "While Using," your live location will not be shared when your phone is locked or the app is in the background — which is when most alerts are sent. You can change this at any time in your phone's settings under CERRET → Location.

Connect your bracelet

Press the centre of your bracelet once. A single press pairs; a double press sends an alert.

Your bracelet is linked to your account.

Check that it is connected

Open the app and look at the My Circle panel. When your bracelet is connected, you will see Bracelet with a green dot beside it, and the battery percentage.

Your bracelet stays connected within about 15 metres (50 feet) of your phone. Walls and crowded places reduce that range.

If your bracelet does not appear

1. Turn your phone's Bluetooth off, wait five seconds, turn it back on, then reopen the app.
2. Press the centre of the bracelet once more — a single press, not a double press.
3. Move the bracelet closer to your phone and away from other Bluetooth devices.
4. Close the app fully and reopen it.

Next: Add your safety contacts; your bracelet cannot send an alert until at least one contact is set up.
